Severn Deanery School of Surgery: Facilitation of Skills Courses
Since 2012, we have been working on a project, funded by Severn School of Surgery, which aims to support local trainees who wish to organise skills courses in a range of specialties. Through collaboration with the Lead for Skills and Courses (Mr Robert Longman, UHBT), we have set up more formal processes for setting up new courses and improved the handover of information between course organisers each year. We encourage the trainees to follow the Healthcare compliance guidelines in respect of financial sponsorship from Medical Device and Pharmaceutical companies. In addition, we have set up a common method for course evaluation and reporting, with the aim of improving quality and consistency among the various courses.
We are looking forward the working with the newly appointed Lead for Skills and Courses, Mr James Coulston (Musgrove Park Hospital)
